Personal Statement
Through her Maximé Clarity, Creating Space for Wellbeing and Mindful Brooklyn offerings, Francesca offers services to help address trauma, process grief, reduce stress, and more, including working with organizations and communities on addressing structural, organization and social/cultural trauma.
Maximé teaches meditation and mindfulness to individuals, executives, nonprofit leaders and groups in New York City, and throughout the U.S. and globally online, primarily through a secular mindfulness lens informed by ancient wisdom teachings as well as somatic psychotherapeutic approaches. Maximé integrates mindfulness and relational practices, Buddhist psychology, attachment styles, neuroscience research, positive neuroplasticity, Nonviolent Communication, Focusing, narrative expression and somatic “bottom-up” approaches in her private and group teachings and trainings with clients and students. Francesca loves working with adults and couples to create space for their essential self to emerge and be brought into greater cohesion, integration, and balance in relationships with self and others.

Academic and training qualifications:
Francesca graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the United States with a degree in English Literature and Language. She went on to receive her Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City, and became a licensed psychotherapist with the state of New York thereafter. Francesca has also completed certified trainings in Somatic Experiencing Trauma Healing, Indigenous Focusing Oriented Therapy, Focusing Oriented Therapy, Relational Life Therapy for Couples, Accredited Mindfulness Meditation, as well as Brainspotting 1 and 2 trainings. Francesca has also studied and practiced Internal Family Systems, Coherence Therapy/Memory Reconsolidation, AEDP, Attachment-Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Positive Neuroplasticity, and other somatic, experiential, and holistic therapeutic models including narrative/expressive arts therapy and poetry therapy.

Francesca works with adults, couples and groups to access bottom-up/inside-out, somatic and felt sense approaches to balance and wellbeing. With training in several trauma healing modalities as well as having a creative background in the use of metaphor through poetry, Francesca brings a unique set of insights to clients and practitioners alike. Much of Francesca’s work is on intergenerational and/or racialized trauma.
