Dr. John Amodeo
Certified Focusing-Oriented Therapist
Certified Focusing Trainer
Personal Statement
I help individuals and couples address important relationship issues and life concerns. I am the author of the award-winning book Dancing with Fire: A Mindful Way to Loving Relationships, which integrates feelings and longings into spiritual practice. I am also the author of The Authentic Heart and Love & Betrayal. I’ve conducted workshops and lectured internationally and am an adjunct faculty member of Meridian University. Through a warm, engaging style, I create a safe place to explore issues and feelings so that you may move toward greater freedom, peace, and intimacy. Bringing a mindful, gentle awareness toward the subtle flow of inner experiencing allows a more gentle relationship with feelings and longings; these may then be expressed in a non-blaming, engaging ways that invite people toward us rather than push them away. I am also a Certified Focusing Trainer and have received training in Somatic Experiencing to heal trauma.
